Here you will find simple instructions on how to create, join and watch one-on-one games. You may create/join up to four games simultaneously.
Create a Game

Click on the One-on-One Tab in the backgammon lobby. The One-on-One Table Chart will open. |

Click on the Create New Game button at the bottom of the screen. |

A new window will open, presenting you with the settings you must complete for your new game. Make your selection for Game Type, Stake, Limit, Length, Speed and Ranking Limits from the drop-down lists. |

In the Preferences section, you can choose to add up to three conditions to your game: play with doubling cube, allow beavers and allow opponents to negotiate.
The Jacoby Rule (for single games) and Crawford Rule (for series’) are automatically selected in the preferences. |

Click on Open Table. |

As soon as you click on Open Table, your new game is saved and added to the Table Chart for all 888 Backgammon members to view. You are the owner of this game and have the right to accept or decline members who wish to join you at the table. Your table will appear in the appropriate Stake Tab
A member requests to join your game:
When another member requests to join your game, you will receive this message. If you would like to accept the member’s offer to start playing, click on Start Game. The game table will open.
A member requests to join your table, but wants to negotiate settings first:
If you marked allow opponents to negotiate in the Create New Game window, members can send you a request to change the game settings. The member’s requested changes are marked with a red dot. If you approve the changes and would like to start playing, click on Start Game. If you do not accept the member’s request, click on Cancel.
Join a Game

You can request to join any game on the Table Chart that is accompanied by a Join Action Button. Simply choose a game and click on Join. You can also double click on the game’s row and the table will open. |

You receive a confirmation message that shows all of the game’s preferences. To play, click on Start Game. Then, wait for the opponent to accept and the table will open |

The owner receives a message that says you wish to play at his table. Your username and player ranking appears in the message. If the owner accepts your request to play, he will click on Accept. If he does not accept your request, he will click on Decline.
If the owner does not accept your request to play, you will receive a refusal message. |

Watch a Game
When two players are seated at a one-on-one table, the Join Action Button changes to a Watch Action Button. Choose the game you wish to view and click on Watch. The table will open and you may watch the game for as long as you like. To close the table, click on the X in the top right corner of the screen or click the Close button.
